I just imagine the Yandere using that to their advantage and to their Darling's horror. "Oh, but you like this don't you? I'm imagining a really smug yandere, you know? One that thinks they are doing you such a big favor and give you all their love by expressing it this way. But in reality, they don't even realize how messed up it is.

They were just breaking into your home after you went to bed to admire their darling from afar for a little bit. They are not daring to stir you from your sleep when they can stand beside you and watch. It is enough; they won't be greedy. But they couldn't have known they'd find the holy grail of smut and depravity on your bookshelf when they started browsing as their curiosity got the better of them. They are almost appalled by their darling, if not for the fact that when they browse through the pages of a random book, the words kidnapping, stalking, love, murder, and quite a few more seem like a temptation made for them especially.

So, you actually like that kind of stuff, huh?

Someone following you on a dark street, their steps noticeable but their face masked as they are always just five steps behind you. You run, they run. There's a red rose on your windowsill the next day. It scares you, but they know now that you are just pretending. That your heart is beating faster now, elated by the chase and the promise of love it brings. The fact that you have your own mad person excites you. The yan continues to borrow one book after the other, annotates them, and takes notes for themselves before putting them back onto your shelf for you to find one day, horrified to see lots of "I'd love to do this to you," "How about I kill the coworker you hate—would that make you love me?" and "Love this, love you, always you" in them.

They thought being a silent observer, loving you from afar, was the way to be with you. But they can't help but masturbate to the sex scenes, thinking about how they'd reenact them with you. Your books will be devastatingly ruined by stains and tears in the pages as they have either ripped out a scene to save for later or bit into the book as they've hit their orgasm. Your bookshelf was a collection of dark romance before, but now it is literally the remnant of a massacre of the once neat collection.

But of course, they won't stop there.

Everyone gets sick of reading books someday, even though it's been nice doing it sitting next to you—part of the yan hoping you might wake up and they get to act out some of the scenes you read about. However, there are more things to uncover and learn from. Your public social media they've stalked so far was nice and dandy, but the favorites and posts you hide on your private computer have so much potential to learn from.

The yan can learn about all these little desires of yours. The masks you like, how you want to be taken, cared for, and loved forever. You seem to believe in soulmates—crazy! They do, too! If the yan is delusional enough, it turns out that you two are so similar to each other—a perfect match. Even the kinks they didn't share with you before can be arranged with enough dedication to you. They'll make preparations so you'll be able to ease into these depraved things that you kept hidden from them. You might have been afraid to act on your desires, but the yan is ready to let you live them out to the fullest.

Never mind that you cry after being chased home, it's what you wanted, right? It doesn't matter how you actually feel when they harass and stalk you, leave you little notes and flowers everywhere, because they are just doing what your book-partners would do (it worked for them, after all). You wanted the yan to be possessive over you; why are you sad that no one wants to be your friend when the yan went to the trouble of making sure everyone would be too scared to approach you? And really, aren't you grateful for the yan taking care of your coworker problem? Was sending you their pinky not enough proof of their love?

How come you don't love them yet? When will you love them like the protagonists of your books?

Haven't they done enough? Are you seriously saying you don't like their gifts and dedication to you? Or perhaps you are just trying to play hard to get... of course! That must be it. You are so lovely; you must know that you deserve to be desired immensely. Only they can desire you as much as to go to such lengths, but perhaps it hasn't been enough yet. You deserve more. You are waiting for the yan to prove their undying, absolute love for you. It must be something big, something extraordinary. Something that will show you just how much they care about your interests and especially you.

This is the best itager doujinshi ever. Hands down. I've never read anything that has topped this it is literally perfect. It's created by overlord R who's only critical fault is that she ships gerita.. but ngl i think she was just born in the wrong time. You'll see a lot more work by her here and i genuinely think that if she was born in an era that didn't push for uke italy she would've been an itager warrior. shes like how a lot of people who aren't racist in this day and age (thank god) would've TOTALLY been super racist 50 years ago (you know what i mean? sometimes you just can tell when you know somebody). Poor R was born in the wrong generation.

This one is also great but I'd say it's only a tinyyy bit more behind the other two because of the knowledge she is a Gerita believer (it spoils the taste of some bits when you think about it). If you ignore her beliefs though this is a just as high quality of Itager doujin as the other two

Temperatur - PB (Neri)

What's this?! A doujin that's improperly sorted on [MANGA SCANLATION SITE] under gerita?! This is Itager LOL you can literally see it on the title and on Otaku Republic its labled as itager as well. Although it has fully proper intentions behind it, it's still not nearly as good as R's above doujinshis or my favorite Itager fanartist (who will come up later in the pixiv comic section). This isn't because it's itager of course (im going to fucking kill you if you go "durhhh its worse because its itager since gerita is supreme") NO. It's because this author isn't willing to keep "it" in their pants! This is a shounen ai but there's still too much eroticism for the sake of sexiness rather than humor which takes away from the critical broship aspect of itager! I have nothing against ero (if you know me im SUPER pro-ero) but yaoi is a science! Erotic scenes are like chilli crisp in a doujinshi... YOU MUST USE THEM PROPERLY OR ELSE IT'LL RUIN THE YAOI INSTEAD OF ENHANCING IT! Also there is pruaus jumpscare which ranks it down for me too.

HONORABLE MENTION

I have two Itager doujinshis I bought off Otaku Republic that have never been scanlated before. They are the last of their kind on the website, so I'm too afraid to tear them open for scanlation. I also don't know how to translate Japanese and it probably would be a nightmare to contact the original authors of these doujins since they're so old... but the art looks so good... especially for strawberry sex. I will make a point to put an effort in this over the summer (if I cannot get permission, then I will translate it for myself and you will need to personally contact me to see the translation, out of respect for the original author).

this motherfucker is my goat. my on god goat. i think they hate hetalia now or are just average japanese embarassed of their past bc they deleted all their hetalia work and i would literally do anything to put them in a time machine and make them go back to when they liked this shit so i could commission them to make a whole doujinshi with my entire year of part time job pay. Perhaps I'm wrong, since this is all we have left of motsu's legacy in the itager wars, but this is SO freaking itager i think my eyes would start rolling to the back of my skull if i found out they're another gerita victim of the era. because almost everybody else on this motherfucking post is a victim to being born in the wrong generation, but they do have comics and fanarts that show symptoms of their gerita truth aids (and the comic gets really weird or bad suddenly when it kicks in like you can pinpoint it). Motsu has never faltered. And whats even more impressive is that this is absolutely canon. The best itager doujinshi by R is incredible and perfect because it's exactly canon, but I think that motsu takes it a step further by being able to create mundane comics that still have the same level of canon atmosphere. I'll admit that R's best Itager doujin relies on sticking close to things himaruya has already written to keep it standing strong. Motsu doesnt give a single fuck. bro said no pads no helmet no condom we whip out dick out in the wind raw and see who gets pregnent. and it turned out himaruya did because these comics are absolutely perfect they are a true extension of the real webcomic itager which i think i have a SUPER SUPER long way to go until i can get there. (at this point I kind of embrace that my itager is colored in the way my way of writing and humor is, but that is because i draw itager for fun too much these days due to heavy school and work. my career is studying classical #true webcomic himaruya style itager which requires actual skill).

These above three are very good quality R pixiv comics (going from best (top) to great (bottom))

The below four are itager comics I would consider OK, but they have some form of gerita AIDS that causes it to be a bit unpleasant to eat (to varying degrees, going from OK (top) to what is this gay shit <- derogetory (bottom)). R was born in the wrong generation... and it really starts showing how the environment influenced them to add some really bad components to their version of the ship

To clarify, none of these are absolutely terrible awful "killed my grandma" kind of things. All of these comics compared to the average gerita comic are WONDERFUL. But if we are looking at it alone without the context of the gerita invasion our world is suffering from, these OK-bad tier comics do have key components wrong with them. If anyone is interested I suppose I can make another post annotating what is wrong with these comics, but I feel like that is unnecessary and a bit cruel considering R doesn't seem interested in the ship anymore. Sometimes people live and die in the wrong era, and you must acknowledge their faults, but still be understanding of the situation they were in.

If you've read all the English translated doujins for this ship floating around online, you probably recognize this author and are surprised this is here! Yes, they have a billion jillion gerita doujins and i hate all of them LOL. But this one pixiv comic is the one time they got something right. Hakoniwa seems to have this problem that (aside from gerita... although I think this is a symptom of having gerita aids) they make this ship way too emotional in an angsty sadness manner! I understand that their focus is that they prefer exploring the emotional depth of ships rather than making humorous situations, but they're doing it all wrong! (this isn't even to mention how I think that humor and emotional depth are things that can exist side by side; even complimenting each other if executed properly....) I feel like people get the idea with ships that sadness/angst = depth, which is untrue. emotional components that twist your heart around and bring you to tears can come from sad AND happy things, it just seems to be that it's much harder to execute with happiness. People think angst and fluff are opposite things when really, they're two sides of the same coin, with both of them being done terribly most often LOL. I don't consider myself someone who likes fluff or angst at all actually, because it seems that when people describe something as either of those things, neither of them provoke the feeling im supposed to have. I think that with itager, it has lots of depth in its emotional components, but these components are made of things that make you feel so heartwarmed that you could cry. This comic does not reach that level, but it is for once an emotional comic that Hakoniwa gets RIGHT. This is canon compliant. This is something that would happen. This is ITAGER!

FANFICTION:

There is no good itager fanfiction. There is very few mid ones. maybe one or two OK/almost good ones. but no solid good ones. and this is coming from a guy who spent the last 6 years scouring ao3 and fanfiction dot net. In my opinion, hetalia fandom has this wretched curse that it will uniquely be the only fandom with so much fanfiction with none of it being good. Good hetalia fanfiction does not exist for Itager and Romapru. For other ships maybe, but at least for the two I'm into hell No. Everytime I come back to ao3 it just leaves me upset and unsatisfied like that stripper that i KNOW doesn't actually love me and just wants my money, but I keep coming back hoping shell change her mind. NEWS FLASH! SHE WONT!! SHE JUST NEEDS TO PAY HER BILLS THIS MONTH!

Seasons 1-4 (APH to World Series... in other words before the artstyle changed.) + bits and pieces of beautiful world are good (but some are BAD... LOOKS AT THAT ONE SCENE THEY ADDED THAT I FUCKING HATE).

Bloody Moimoi:

I'm not a bloody moimoi expert, but of course I've read their doujins how could i not. They have pieces of real goodness in them, but basically all of their work is R-18, so of course the gerita aids is too much for my palate to handle. I'll take a closer examination at them if somebody asks me to, but for now I'd say if you haven't read their work yet you should, since during their non R-18 scenes I remember theres some good parts, but the R-18 totally kills my boner *cries*

IN CONCLUSION:

i do dislike a bit the hyperfocus on megumi's sexuality / whether he wanted to "set up" yuuji with tsumiki or not bc it takes away alot from this chapter imo.

His dream life being one where his sister (the one he's put at such a high pedestal and whose love and admiration for her is palpable through every single thing he does for the sake of saving people) is the happiest alongside yuuji (someone who he's known for a few months tops) shows you how much yuuji meant to him in such little time, romantic implications & shipping lens aside, and how much he'd fought for tsumiki, the person who had loved him the most.

And the fact he had just wanted a good life for her and later for yuuji and didn't take himself into consideration shows you how bad his self-worth issues are that they permeate even in his own "perfect" life, that he couldn't entertain the thought of letting himself find happiness even in his wildest dreams, and that he had accepted that.

And those jokes of megumi being down bad (while funny and while are jokes i myself have participated in), there are people who take it seriously and that takes away from the emotional weight their relationship, and that scene and chapter has.

Those words had sparked life back into Megumi because Yuuji knew what it was like. He didn't force him to get up, like the fandom wanted, and didn't serve him empty platitudes about having something to live for or something along the lines of "your sister wouldn't want this" or telling him to get revenge. No. He had told him "i understand. that's why i can't tell you to live." He didn't invalidate his feelings, in fact, he reaffirmed them. Never made him feel bad for crumbling under the pressure, either.

And that scene of yuuji telling megumi "it'll be lonely without you, fushiguro." Brought me to tears ngl. It's so simple yet so powerful. He didn't tell Megumi to "just live" or to "just get up". He had simply told him it'll be lonely without him. That he'd miss him. That he was important to someone still alive and that he still had value for that person big enough to fight and claw and go through all of this for. There was someone who, despite seeing all his ugly flaws, all his 'weakness', lose that he thought he could offer (10S), still wanted him around anyways. Because he had made that big an impact on him as an individual, as a person, not as a jujutsu sorcerer.

It speaks of how deep their bond was, it speaks of how empathatic yuuji is, and how loving megumi is. (Despite what his rough exterior would lead you to believe)

He just wanted his two most important people to be loved. He wanted to love them. He had secretly wanted to be loved, but he never let himself indulge in that, especially after the coma his sister, who had loved him despite him thinking he was mean and cruel, was in and later, her death. To him, he had lost value, he had lost what he was fighting for this entire time, and he had lost the only person who loved him even when he was 'horrible'. Until Yuuji told him he was still loved. That Yuuji loved him. That he wasn't alone.

And i think that's a damn shame that it was reduced to surface-level memes.

"Ronin chose it!" He raised an eyebrow: "And you still listened?" You groaned: "I make bad choices, okay?" After a minute or two, Valentin exhaled, a hint of concern: "You feeling better now?" You laid still, burying  your face in his shoulder: "Why did I listen to Ronin?" "That’s a question you should ask yourself more often," he smiled. As another terrifying scene starts playing. You squeezed your eyes shut, refusing to look at the screen. Valentin shifted beside you, adjusting so you were tucked against him more comfortably. "You know," he spoke up, his voice as casual as if you weren’t on the verge of passing out, "you could stop watching. Would that be better?" "And leave myself alone in the dark? Absolutely not. Besides, if I stop now, I’ll just imagine worse things."

By the time the credits finally rolled, you felt like you had aged ten years. "Well," Valentin said, stretching. "That was quite the experience." You turned to him, questioning your own ears: "Fun?" He smiled softly: "You survived, didn’t you?" "Barely." Just then, a notification popped up in the group chat. <@Angelic>: How’s the movie night going? <@Y/N>: I think I lost ten years of my life. <@hitmeuppp>: lmao, weak <@Angelic>: Misaki, you literally screamed during the rom-com just because the guy showed up out of nowhere to surprise her. <@hitmeuppp>: jumpscares ARE jumpscares You grinned, shaking your head. You dropped your head against Valentin’s shoulder, desperately in need of a sweet treatment: "I need something happy. Or candy. Or both." ⚠️ SPOILER WARNING: WINDBREAKER STAGE PLAY⚠️ 

I finally watched wbstage last Sunday!! (but only once, on my phone, with no earphones, while walking with my family at the mall, with my shitty phone signal cutting off every few scenes, but I watched it nonetheless!!!) Here's a dump of my thoughts for anyone interested!!! (It's all glazing)

The stage play was a beautiful and honestly refreshing adaptation from the original material, like even as a person who's watched the anime about 30 times and reread the manga 3 times, this was new and exciting?! I know exactly how the story goes and yet i also didn't?? I don't know. I never in my life thought I needed the wb boys to sing.

And the song genre choices were SUPERB! I loved the funky, kind of pop-leaning(?) music Furin had, while Shishitoren had cool hip-hop and breakdancing, it suit their respective teams' images so well! I also loved the set designs and lighting that even in their simplicity really conveyed the feeling of the originals so well! The warmth of Cafe Pothos, the dark intimidating tunnel between Furin-Shishitoren territory,,, even the arena at The Cage!!!

One of my faves: Nirei's actor was incredible! Completely embodied the little sunshine ball's energy with how he'd run all over the face while talking to Skr. Seeing the "teppen made!!" (to the top!!!) scene again "for the first time" made me tear up!! Such a precious moment.... I really treasure Nirei's frienship with Skr, and his admiration for Skr was palpable imo!!

I also was really impressed by Hiragi!! Truthfully, I don't really have strong feelings for his character, but the coolness of his actor during the play (and the antics he had with Umemiya between scenes lol WHY DID HE THROW HIM TO THE FLOOR HAHA) was so endearing!! Shark mama perhaps I was too harsh on you!! He also really put his all into Tamonshu's intro dance I couldnt help laughing ngl. Like WHAT FOR

Speaking of Umemiya aaaaa he was so cool. His intro was so cute, like a children's song with rainbows and silly choreography, yet when Choji showed up and challenged him there was a certain edge to his voice where he growls some notes in his songs and you could feel that hidden rage Manga and Anime Umemiya showed as well. I also loved his laugh!! That man is a carbon copy of the real Ume!!! Nii-chan 🥺

MEANWHILE CHOJI AAAA I admit I was not the biggest fan of him, especially when I first started watching. I felt a bit of closeness to him after the sstrn VS bfrn battle because I resonated with his loneliness, but overall, he's far from my favorite. BUT STAGEPLAY CHOJI?! That energy was contagious!!! It was so cute!!! The way he flopped over and napped and hung off a chair out of boredom during the fights before his own AAAA IT WAS SO CUTE I forgive you now Choji,,,, we're friends,,, good friends in fact,,,,

Ok but he was really pretty and the fight with Kanuma WAS SO WELL CHOREOGRAPHED Kanuma was the goat for heavy lifting the dance and flopping his body around to make Suo look extra graceful. Hilariously painful performance. I could FEEL the evilness Suo exuded in that scene PHYSICALLY. He's so beautiful and I need him executed (affectionate).

AND STNK'S TOGAME I CANT. I DONT HAVE WORDS. HE'S SO BEAUTIFUL. HIS VOICE IS EXACTLY TOGAME'S AND HIS PERFORMANCE WAS STRAIGHT OUT OF THE ANIME. He breathed life and soul into Tgm and then added his own special Stnk spice to it (totally not a biased review I just really like Togame and me and oomfs replayed his scenes maybe a billion times.)

And ofcourse,,,,, Sakura,,,,,,

God if I wasn't already in love with him before,,,, iskw's performance was breathtaking. He had that perfect blend of cocky confident childishness with the kind of "fuck it" attitude only a guy who's already been through the worst of it can have,,,,, and his voice is deeper than Yuuma's (WHO I LOVE, BTW. ONE OF MY ALL TIME FAVE VOICE ACTORS) and gave Skr a more mature vibe AND THE FIGHT WITH TGSK WAS MAGNIFICENT BECAUSE HE (and Stnk!!) WAS SO GOOD AT AMPING UP TENSION AAA the scene where Tgm holds Skr by the collar and talks in his face,,,, Iskw staring right into Stnk's eyes,,,, good god,,,,,, [redacted omegaverse thoughts].

Overall that was such a solid stageplay!!! Thank you SO much to my twt mutuals that invited me to watch with them over Zoom!!! I owe you guys so much aaaa and the screams we had over chat whenever Stnk was on screen!! Core memory<3

I really hope we get more wb stages in the future, because I need that Togame monologue song injected STRAIGHT into my veins and I can only imagine how unhinged and insane an Endo monologue song would be like. God. I'd be on the floor.

If you haven't watched wb stage yet, I highly recommend you do! Aside from a fresh look at the story we've already dissected a million times before (lol), I think the actors did a tremendous job at turning the characters even more "lifelike" with their in-between and off-stage characterizations! I even came to like a few ships more as I watched them interact<3 It definitely deepened my obsession with wb even more!!

ngl for the first question, i think itd have to be caged lungs .... i continue to stew in silence about cw doing so much better than it because there's a lot of moments in it that fuck harddd even though its a little undercooked (i released it earlier than i wanted to because i didnt want to obsess over a bunch of little details, and i kind of regret that now! there are two scenes i would have added if i were able to change things now.) im also very proud of coming undone, especially because it was kind of my,, ig breakout in the fandom? it doing reasonably well is the REASON I AM HERE so be kind to my baby. if that hadnt happened, canary continuity wouldnt exist!!!

as for the second. goddd you cannot make me choose because there is SO MUCH so like. fanart? i'll just bring up some fanart that i think about so much.

atla live action thoughts: episode 1

SPOILERS AHEAD

things i liked:

love that we're starting from a hundred years ago and seeing exactly how everything played out. iirc in the original, sozin's first move was to colonize earth kingdom territory so the show expanding upon it in sozin making it seem as though he was about to attack the earth kingdom as a red herring so he could wipe out the air nomads instead was a good change

sozin being able to wipe out the nomads because they were all gathered in one place for a festival makes a ton of sense, and i really like that they let us have time with the air nomads before wiping them out. gyatso and aang's scene almost brought me to tears, it was so beautifully sincere and touching

whoever casted gordon cormier needs a medal because THIS. FUCKING. KID. i nearly lost it when he started crying like what do you mean this baby has to save the world???

i am so thankful that they didn't shy away from the savagery and brutality of the air nomad genocide. seeing the fire nation cut them down so ruthlessly was absolutely horrific, but it was the perfect way to start this darker iteration of the story and those ten minutes alone made me feel more for the air nomads than the entire three seasons of the original. and having the scene cut between aang lost in the storm and his people being wiped out???? insane.

the visuals are absolutely beautiful. i think they shot this on a volume stage and holy shit did they make use of it because every establishing shot was gorgeous, especially the one for the southern air temple

ian ousley, questionable heritage aside, is actually doing a great job as sokka. his comedic timing is excellent

the bending actually looks... really good. i love how they're doing the airbending in particular, it definitely feels as though aang is entirely untethered to the earth

katara's arc is... interesting. i'll reserve judgement on it till the end of the season but right now i don't hate what they're doing with the changes to her relationship with waterbending. we'll see where they're going with this.

initially i wasn't a fan of them changing katara pulling aang out of the avatar state, but after reflecting i love that it was the memory of gyatso that brings aang back to himself. the idea that even though gyatso is gone, his love for aang still lives on within him, protecting him, is remarkably powerful and moving. and i think at this point, this version of katara and aang don't have enough of a relationship for her pulling him out of the avatar state to have the same impact it did in the original

THE MUSIC IS TOP-NOTCH. ngl i teared up when the credits were the iconic sun warrior soundtrack mixed with the atla theme

things i disliked/am conflicted about:

aang running away... doesn't feel like it's aang running away. i know he had the scene where he's crying and upset, but it feels more as though he just wanted to clear his head for a little bit rather than fleeing in terror because he was afraid of the responsibility of being the avatar. his guilt over abandoning his people and the world is fairly important to his character, so i didn't love the way they did this scene because it doesn't really feel like an active choice that aang made

gran-gran being turned into into an exposition machine to tell the audience - and aang - everything. really wasn't a fan of her being the one to reveal that aang is the avatar, or that they info-dumped everything about the fire nation and the war in one scene. it also sort of took away the gut punch of aang finding gyatso's skeleton because he already knows what's happened, whereas in the show it hits so much harder because of his blind optimism and naivete leading up to that moment

RIP katara breaking aang from the iceberg because of her righteous fury scene, you will always be famous. live action katara feels a little too passive so far but i hope that'll change in upcoming episodes as we get further into her arc

dallas liu as zuko... mmm, something about it is not working for me so far but i can't put my finger on why. i wouldn't say i disliked it, but i'm not loving it either. his performance feels a little too theatrical, somehow? but it's only the first episode so again i won't be too harsh till i finish the season

the southern water tribe should look far emptier and more isolated to get a real sense of how the war has affected them, imo. here the impact of their parents and most of the adults in the village being gone doesn't seem as apparent as it does in the original when it's literally just a few women and children

overall, premiere rating: 7.5/10

Maddi's Reaction to TBB S3 Finale

Warning: SPOILERS. LOTS AND LOTS OF SPOILERS

The episode title killed me a little bit, ngl

I mean, "The Cavalry Has Arrived". Talk about a callback lmao

Ofc Omega found a way to release the Zillo Beast. And Echo's reaction was amazing. "How do you know?" "Because it's exactly what I'd do!"

Same with Hunter, Wrecker, and Crosshair: "Echo or Omega?" "Omega." "Omega."

I was so fucking convinced that the og operative - the one with the sniper rifle - was gonna be Winter Soldier-ified Tech. Like, I was banking on it, and it turns out he was just a random clone. (I might make a rewrite changing that outcome lol)

Emerie finally became a good guy! After Episode 10, I was rooting for her to wake the fuck up haha. Glad she came to her senses, and very proud that Echo had the sense to trust her.

Oh, speaking of the not-actually-Tech operative, HE CUT CROSSHAIR'S HAND OFF?! CROSSHAIR BBY NOOOO

Ahem. I'm not mad. It's a TV show, it's not real, I'm not mad.

Hunter and Crosshair finally acting like brothers again makes my heart so happy. "You should stay here. I'll go after Omega." "Not a chance."

Ooh, when Echo found Omega and the other kids, the way he greeted her made me wanna cry a little bit. And the way the kids hugged her before Emerie flew them to safety - guys, my heart can't take this cuteness.

Echo's speech to the prisoners gave me Fives' battle for Kamino speech. "You've all been through enough, and you all deserve your freedom, but Omega and I can't do this alone. Will any of you help us?" compared to "We're one of the same. Same heart, same blood. And my blood's boiling for a fight." "But what about our training?" "Your training is in your blood."

Hunter, Crosshair, and Omega working together almost non-verbally to kill Hemlock was amazing. Our baby Omega has grown up so much since Season 1, and I'm so proud of her. Also, yay, Hemlock is dead!

Nala Se's "sacrifice" to destroy her work kinda made me tear up, ngl. (I say "sacrifice" because it wasn't a big thing like Tech's death, she just got shot by Rampart and dropped the detonator at his feet. It still made me tear up tho.)

Everyone recovering on Pabu made me so happy, but we didn't see Phee and Omega reunite, which was kind of a let-down. But, everyone's safe and happy, so I'll take it.

Now for the big thing: THE END SCENE

Oh my god baby Omega grew up so much. Her long hair in the really loose and messy ponytail made me so happy haha. Also, was that Hunter's bandana? TBB team, can we confirm?

Speaking of Hunter, his older look makes me so happy. No armor, just soft, comfortable clothes. (I do miss the old bandana though)

Hunter's concern about Omega becoming a Rebellion pilot is so fatherly omfg. Also, our baby is a Rebellion pilot!!

Omega's little salute to Hunter and Batcher made my heart melt a little. Seeing Tech's goggles on the dashboard also didn't help. And Hunter's final line - "She'll be fine."

Guys, I'm in awe. This episode was amazing. Laughed, cried, and melted the whole way through. Perfect ending for our favorite squad.

A friend of mine invited me to the live action httyd and honestly? I kind of liked it? Part of it is definitely that I never saw the original in theaters, so the live action is my first experience of seeing it on the big screen. I don't feel like writing up an essay, so in bullet points:

There are scenes where Mason Thames looks like he's on the verge of tears & I really appreciated it. (Weird place to start, I know, but it was something I noticed, okay?)

I liked the characterization they added to Snotlout and his dad. Yes, I know that that's explored in the tv show, but I liked that it was incorporated into the movie. Definitely added to the Snotlout + Hiccup parallels.

Like? I've seen the TV show, I don't want to dismiss it, but I have to admit there's something a little bit frustrating about people dismissing character development in the LA movie with "oh well they did it in the show (so it didn't have to be in the movie)". It's a very MCU line of thought.

I liked Ruffnut and Tuffnut and thought their joke about how "their mom can't tell them apart" was hilarious. Plus I loved how we got more than one body shape in the teen girls of Berk.

Actual mentions of Valka beyond the breast plate joke! Her disappearance haunts the narrative!

Multiracial vikings! I admit, I'm not sure that they needed to have an excuse for why all the different races were there, but I was fascinated by the idea that Berk is Berk because all these people came together to create a dragon-hunting village.

I liked Toothless. He had an iridescence at times. I wanted to pet him so bad. :(

There were several scenes were I was reminded of the triceratops scene in Jurassic Park in a good way.

I liked the chameleon terrible terrors. Sue me. I thought they were an interesting take on them. 🤣

I didn't mind the fact that they cut the scene where one of the terrible terrors swallows fire because they make it clear during dragon training that the green smoke is flammable & the Crimson Death is spewing that stuff. I felt, personally, that even with that scene cut, Hiccup making the connection still made sense.

Astrid!! I liked what they did with Astrid; we know Hiccup because the movie is from his POV, but honestly? I felt like her arguments were kind of valid; WITHOUT KNOWLEDGE of his internal feelings/how things go with Stoick, her seeing him as nepo baby that keeps causing problems (injuring other vikings mid-dragon attack, "luring" a monstrous nightmare into town setting fire to everything and losing the sheep) and not getting in trouble. WE KNOW OTHERWISE but I can 100% see why she is frustrated with him. And then she tells him she wants to be chief* and from HIS POV we know he's like "oh yeah, you'd be a great chief, you're what my dad wants", but from her POV it's like he doesn't even care about Berk.

NGL, I do think she would have made a good chief of the original Berk, but Hiccup is the perfect chief for the new Berk. Together they fight crime.

We had a disabled actress playing a disabled character. A secondary character, yes, but still, 'twas neat.

I genuinely couldn't tell that the movie was longer. Oops.

Gerard Butler was. So cool.

Okay, so like I said above, I didn't see the cartoon version, so this is very much a, "I might have felt different if I'd seen the cartoon one in theater" okay? I'm acknowledging that right now, you don't need to tell me otherwise but.

Whenever I've seen the cartoon, the Crimson Death has been on a small screen + cartoony + we see the aftermath of her attack.

In the live action movie, in the theater, I saw her and thought, "oh, they're fighting a god".

I also liked how they let Astrid be the one to plan their attack. It played into her strength as a fighter/leader & as someone who had actually hung out with the other teens while Hiccup was more of an outcast.

Stoick admitting they rode the dragons home. Nice.

I just had fun. Admittedly, I might had less fun if I'd seen the original in theaters, but since I didn't. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Here's some random terrible sketches I've done throughout the past 3 months that each took me less than 2 minutes to create because I'm lazy!! It's more about the...essence of what the image conveys rather than the art itself lol

I love how yellow the show is. Maybe it's just because my phone screen is made to see everything through a warm-ish filter, but certain series (especially s4) just have such a yellowy vibe to it...I have no idea why, but I love it so much

Also I love how in series 1 whenever Justin sat on the sofa, Robert always wanted to sit squished between him and the armrest so they were directly next to eachother, it's so CUTE!

(ignore the poor quality of the screenshot) LOOK AT ROBERTS FACE. HE IS ENJOYING IT. HE IS CONTENT. HE JUST WANTS TO BE CLOSE TO HIS BESTIE!! It's so sad that they got rid of this little thing he always did, I wonder what happened that made Robert stop?!?! Maybe he eventually realised that Justin found it annoying (except I'm pretty sure J secretly thought it was sweet) lol

Ngl series 1 had some of the most hilarious moments of the entire show in there. One of my favourites is in 'Suits you' (I think that's its name, it's episode 7 I think) when Robert has the conversation with Dee that goes something like-

R:" Sir is having a bath."

D:"Oh, well I can't give him the paper in the bath!"

R:"No.."

D:"The paper will get all soggy!"

R:"..............yes"

THE WAY HE SAYS THAT LAST LINE ABSOLUTELY KILLS ME ITS SO FUNNY FOR NO REASON

AND THEN AFTERWARDS WHEN DEE MAKES THAT RUBBISH JOKE AND ROBERT MAKES THE FAKE LAUGHING AUDIO PLAY. AND YOU JUST SEE THE LIGHT FADING FROM HER EYES. THE CORNERS OF HER MOUTH SLOWLY FLATTENING. LIKE NO ROBERT YOU'RE NOT MEANT TO SLOWLY CRUSH THE JOY FROM THIS POOR WOMAN BECAUSE OF A BAD JOKE.

And also there was such a sweet moment in the blocked pipe episode, when Robert was going into the basement to check for the pipe, and after doing his (unbearably cringe) 'Robert the brave' lines, he said "and Sir.........I'll miss you!" THE WAY HE SAID AND ACTED WHEN DOING THAT WAS SO CUTE. HE MUST REALLY LIKE JUSTIN TO MISS BEING AWAY FROM HIM FOR 30 SECONDS MAX. And Justin's fake annoyance afterwards was so funny too because I know that deep inside he thought that was adorable

Its kinda sad at how little Robert thinks of himself when it comes to his relationship with Justin. For example in the Roberta episode, he is literally on the brink of leaving the house forever?!?! Just because Justin bought a new robot to HELP him! He really believes that their friendship is just gone like that because of his..jealousy I suppose? Same in the Justi Moment episode (literal copy and paste episode), where he is on the verge of tears because Justin, yet again, bought a robot to help him out! I suppose Robert truly does believe sometimes that he is only fantasising of having a good relationship with J, and that Justin doesn't reciprocate those feelings (which is obviously not true).

Mac's first episode is so heartbreaking though. The fact that Justin did not stop a single time to consider the consequences of leaving his literal family for a couple of years is so sad. And Robert's little monologue bit was so tragic :( , but imagine what it would of been like if Justin actually didn't return for a couple of years, and how devastated Robert would of been. I wonder how he'd react to Justin coming back after so long?? He'd probably never want to see him again after that tbf. Also I do wonder why Robert was so nervous and awkward about meeting Mac for the first time, since he's never been known to do it before when meeting other newcomers. The poor guy was clinging on to Meradith for dear life in some scenes!

It's quite interesting that Robert canoniclly has a physical disability with his right foot coordinator (I think that's what it is, cant remember the exact thing) being faulty so sometimes he'll mess up with walking. Also quite interesting that robots can HAVE physical disabilities. Surely their parts can be replaced or fixed? I wonder why Robert never decided to fix it, perhaps because he didn't think it was important enough? Although I'm pretty sure it does affect him, since multiple times throughout the show he's shown to have a travelling cane of some sorts, meaning he literally needs a walking stick to get around sometimes- so it must be an annoying thing to have. Maybe he's worried about having an operation on his leg? Actually now that I think about it, coordination takes place in the brain, so maybe he's unable to fix it because of that (because I'm pretty sure messing with someone's brain is....not the greatest thing lol)

I admit I had never read anything by Tolkien before The Hobbit, but I knew that during summer I would've rarely had time to read: I needed something enterteining, full of action, easy to read and fast-peaced, something to make me want to read even during the months when I feel the most exhausted. I needed to go far away with my mind, I needed comfort to cheer me up, adventures that I knew were good-ending. And yes, Bilbo was so good at lifting my spirits. This book was so funny to read, I loved the way everything is described and the way Bilbo is truly the undercovered hero that this adventure needs. This was a rather light reading, with some important themes nonetheless, and I was glad I decided to read it. You can bet my journey with Tolkien won't stop here. The best part is that now I can enjoy every Hobbit movie, comparing movie and book for the first time — I don't actually remember a thing about those movies, probably never even watched them completely. It's gonna be fun. PS: just a moment of appreciation for the map in my book which is the same used in the first film, just translated in italian! I screamed when I saw that ngl

A Paperback: Malinverno, by Domenico Dara. ☆☆☆☆☆ This book was perfectly unexpected. I chose it randomly from a bookstore; it was a beautiful day of some months ago, I was with a friend and we had nothing else to do but study and wander around the city. This friend of mine kept making jokes because all the books I chose were blue or violet-covered. And yet, blue is my favourite colour, my eyes are naturally attracted to stuff with that dark shade: I don't know if blue chose for me that day or if I truly felt attracted to this book. The outcome didn't change, I bought it and I can say it has been a good series of coincidences: I loved this book. Reading it was painfully comforting, I saw people inhabiting a little village in Italy, but I saw poetry among them, I saw some of the tragedies that life creates. I pondered death, walked through a cimitery and read about someone who sees life a little bit like I do. Someone who breathes books like I've wanted to do for a lifetime, someone who feels loney like I often do these days. I'm not Astolfo Malinverno, but a bit of him is inside me, too. And then a lot of books are inside this one book, there's mundanity, there are stories that are unique and the same within the mankind, misteries that only exist because humanity lives and carries footprints with her. It was not a perfect novel - I'd have something to say about a few scenes towards the end - but all those pages made me cry so much I forgot what it felt like, staying up late at night because you just can't keep your eyes off your reading, sobbing through tears, "right", heartbreaking tears, because deep down you know the story couldn't have gone differently. Right now, this book just has everything I needed to read, so it's a five stars for me. Fun fact about this: I give my rating as soon as I finish reading, pondering what I felt - there's no way that a book capable of making me cry so much throughout the whole story, always hitting right in the heart, with such a good poetry-like style of writing and an ending that truly felt inevitable, is not worthy of five stars. Candela Obscura S2 - Thoughts So Far

i had the pleasure of seeing the premiere in theatres and it was PHENOMENAL. im gonna get right into it.

first off! you don’t necessarily have to watch the first season. i think you’ll have a bit of a better grasp on things and it’s also just fucking fantastic so i highly recommend. but no, you don’t have to in order to enjoy this campaign.

everyone embodies their characters so well. you can absolutely feel the love and detail put into them. you can feel them getting into their roles as the episode goes on and by the end, you’re completely attached.

it definitely starts off a lot quicker than season 1. we get right into the good stuff with a cold open directly to action. it starts off strong and ends with a bang.

HELL of a first episode, i’ll tell you that.

the vibe is definitely different from matthew mercer’s campaign. spenser has a unique GM style that took a minute to get used to. threwe off a bit at first, but i think it fits the narrative so far.

i pulled together an auggie cosplay just for the hell of it. did some makeup inspired by s1e3 and got dolled up in my best paperboy attire.

unfortunately i was literally the only one dressed up (+ my sibling in just general dark academia clothing). i also had to walk around a very busy store beforehand. so that was a bit awkward but honestly, i was so excited i didn’t care.

all in all, it was incredible. if you enjoyed the first season or are into any kind of body horror or thrillers, give it a try.

i cant wait to see more of their backstories. im super happy with the amount of backstory we got this episode. not too much or too little. just enough to be intriguing and get you invested, while still leaving some mystery.

starting the episode into immediate action was a bit off putting, ngl. i was startled by the pretty significant difference in how spenser is GMs in contrast to matt. i adore his play style but it took a second to get used to. as the episode progressed i could tell it was working really well for this campaign, which is pleasing.

im immediately drawn to sean and marion. i loved auggie and have a fixation on newsies so i obviously have a specific character type i enjoy LMAO. their personalities and interactions with everyone are fantastic.

the PTSD-flashback-type scenes were a great addition imo. it added a lot to their characters. plus that interaction when marion gets his scar? 100/10, gorgeous, tore me apart. i will be watching that scene again when it gets posted and that is a threat.

marion’s breakdown shattered my heart and the other party members had such interesting reactions. im hoping we have more moments like that sprinkled throughout.

of course i love everyone so far. auntie b’s complex history with each party member, nathaniel’s bits of family history, jean’s struggle beginning to shine through, sean’s internal battle with trauma / vague history, marion’s conflict with his own abilities… its all so good.

needless to say i think we’re going to be fed well this season.

my sibling was crying during a few parts but i only really teared up when jean said goodbye to her dad. i knew it was coming but damn it still tugged at my heartstrings.

that entire last scene was just so. GOOD. the entire theatre was losing their fucking minds. you could hear whispering, gasping, nervous giggling. jean’s gilded 6 was wild.

my favorite part of the night was probably when jean was investigating the body and pulled an eye from his heart. as spenser revealed what she found, a loud cough/hacking sound came from the back of the theatre.

you could tell it was probably just a coincidence but after a few seconds of silence people started to laugh. it was just a silly moment that made me really appreciate the atmosphere. as someone who rarely watches films in theatre (or at all tbh), it was a pleasant experience.

anyway i fucking LOVE co and have not stopped thinking about it since the last season ended. so i am very obviously hyped. cant wait to see whats next!

Infidelity is terrible but Coriolanus is like the exception to many things. Like Marcus was just so much better for Sejanus because Marcus doesn't put Sejanus in the basement. He's not afraid of Sejanus's shine. Marcus lets Sejanus bejeweled.

What TS album(s) do you think Sejanus and Lucy Gray are? I was thinking Lover for Sejanus because he really is kind and caring and wants the best for everyone, but he's also Speak Now because he absolutely will speak his mind and not back down on it, he doesn't care if you want him to shut up, he will call you out. For Lucy Gray, I was thinking maybe folklore or evermore? The storytelling, the wandering around the forest aesthetic, the mysteriousness, it all just reminds me of Lucy Gray. Also because I wish Lucy Gray had no body, no crimed Coriolanus, if only she had a boating license and knew how to cover up a scene. Meanwhile Coriolanus doesn't deserve the honor of being a TS album, so he can be Scooter Braun. Or something else of little importance. Do you have a favorite TS album and fave song?

usually I don't say stuff like that regarding cheating, but coriolanus kinda deserves it tbh, the guy had it coming (he deserves much worse actually, I'm being nice on him). YOU'RE SO RIGHT sejarcus is very much every healthy and sweet romance song from her I can think about (plus seven, I'll always talk about how seven is literally them), while snow is would've could've should've (my boy sejanus really danced with the devil at 19 ☠️)

lucy gray is so folklore coded; it's exactly like you said: it's the lyricism, the aesthetic, the mystery, IT'S SO HER. I can see speak now for her too (rip lucy gray, you would've loved dear john and long live). LOVER FOR SEJANUS IS SO CUTE it reminds me of a post I saw calling him loverboy and now it won't leave my head </3 I also see a lot of evermore in him (it's the melancholy for me), but him being lover coded made my heart melt ngl (also, I wouldn't say he's midnights, but he's some songs from midnights, specifically labyrinth, yoyok and that boy would probably tattoo the anti-hero lyrics bc of how hard he relates to it). HELPP she really should've done it, it would save us from so much stress 😭 barb azure would swear she was with lucy gray to be her alibi, I know that's right! NOT CORIOLANUS BEING SCOOTER BRAUN LMAOOOO (but he for sure would think of himself as reputation, he would relate to "this is why we can't have nice things", but my brother, if anything the song is about PEOPLE LIKE YOU)
